Community and Local School Projects |
Over the years, garden club members have been involved in planting projects with the local school district. Before the old Channey School on Princton was demolished and rebuilt as MRH Elementary, the club had active members implementing and maintaining raised vegetable beds for the benefit of the young students. The kids were guided to plant seeds, maintain and harvest the crop. That project has sense taken on a new life with the new building and soon will be available for the local garden volunteers to help again to get a new generation of gardeners going! |

Spring Plant Sale |
The annual spring plant sale has evolved from a small donations only event to a much larger sale offering nursery raised plant stock, home made honey, raffle and auction items as well as the members perennial divisions. The fundraiser supports the maintenance of the club, including the informational speakers, and donations to gardening efforts. Since 2003, we have donated over $4,000 to local, state, national and international organizations. This is also our main way of reaching out to the public to share information about the club membership.

Summer Eating Meetings in Members Gardens
| Summer Eating Meetings, otherwise known as 'pot luck' dinners are held in June, July and August. Still scheduled on the second Tuesday of the month at members own homes, this is an opportunity for members and guests to enjoy the beauty of others' gardens and the norishment of our own food. Many times it includes home 'grown' as well as home 'made' bounty! These gatherings are informal and generally do not include educational presentations. Well maybe the sharing of a recipe or two!

| Fall Auction Event either held in September or October invites members and guests to bring in garden related materials and plants that need a new home. From books to flower pots to that house plant that you have had for way too long! And then we 'auction' them off at really great prices!
